A 460,000-square-foot mixed-use power center is planned for Tyler, about 100 miles east of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Cumberland Park will have eight to 12 major tenants and, perhaps, the ability to siphon department store anchors such as J.C. Penney and Dillard's from cross-town rival mall, Broadway Square, said Clay Mote, who's leasing the 385-acre project for Dallas-based Venture Commercial Real Estate.
Mote also said Cumberland Park also will make much-needed room for retailers not yet in the market.
"This is certainly the intersection for Tyler -- there's no one who disputes that," Mote said of the development at South Broadway (U.S. 69) and Loop 49. "Long-term, that is the intersection to be at. It's pretty strategic."
